How can I format PLSS land description records in excel, so that ArcGis can read/interpret the land descriptions to create a shapefile with polygons of the land description records?

I am learning to use ArcGIS for land records and I would like to see if there is a way I can show polygons surrounding a land area described in PLSS format. For instance if I had a tract record in the state of Kansas with land description SE/4 SE/4 Section 16 T8S R8W and I wanted a polygon to cover the area described - how would I do this?

Thank you in advance for helping me out.

Hello Shaun,

Below is a simple configuration of our standard Parcel Viewer to locate PLSS divisions and export them to a variety of formats.  Still more work to be done on this (including adding quarters and quarter/quarters) but it's a good proof of concept for you.

Locate PLSS Divisions and export screeshots, note that I've pre-populated a search so you can see how it works.

While you're at it, you may also want to see what other solutions for land records we have -

Check out the new Parcel Drafter that lets you enter metes-and-bounds if you need to run out any land descriptions.

Thanks,
