The latest release of Explorer for ArcGIS states that you can now: "Use mobile map packages that contain rasters and mosaics". Great, so I think the mosaics they are referring to are the standard mosaic datasets that we frequently use, the preferred imagery solution. This would be very useful so I opened up the latest release of Pro and added a mosaic dataset containing sentinel 2 imagery but the Create Mobile Map Package tool failed. The layer type is not supported in runtime content.

What mosaics are supported within the runtime content?

Mervyn,

Mosaic Datasets are not supported in the Mobile Map Package (MMPK). Is there a reason you can create a Tile Package from the imagery and use that as a basemap?

Thanks,

Hi Brent

I can certainly do so.

Being able to incorporate Mosaic Datasets will save me a lot of time, energy and storage (no need to duplicate data). I just want to use the app optimally.

I was not sure what "mosaics" were being referred to in the release notes. If they were not referring to Mosaic Datasets, what "mosaics" were being referred to?

Regards

Mervyn
