I have been tasked with caching the newest image of the county I work in. It needs to be cached as a resource to be used within desktop for our techs and also as a service on a webmap for our users. I am not technical and have no idea where to start. Any resources would be appreciated.

I have a server to be used only for caching

Running desktop 10.4

Raster images total just over a terabyte

Hi Kelley,

I would recommend creating a mosaic dataset of the imagery:

Creating a mosaic dataset—Help | ArcGIS Desktop

Then, take a look at the following article for creating a cache:

Publish a Tiled Service to ArcGIS Online w/o ArcGIS for Server or Utilizing Your Credits

agreed with Jake - the Mosaic Dataset is the best structure for organizing and doing QC on your data before converting to cache.

Note we did an hourlong webinar you can view here http://esriurl.com/ImageCacheLTS that discusses many of the issues and options with caching.  One key bit of advice is to test a small area first...
