Hello all,

I have a stacked imaged that I would like to "unstack", if you will. Is there anyway to do this?

Can you narrow down what form it is in using this link ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2)

Hi Dan,

I'm working with multispectral data that was put into a layer stack. When received, I was not informed of the band combinations used in the raster. I'm using ERDAS Imagine, and the user who stacked the raster used Imagine as well. After stacking the user saved it as an image (*.IMG) file.

Is there a way to separate the stack to identify which layers were used? The layers are now titled layer 1, 2, 3...etc, but I know that these layers are not with the like band numbers.

Thanks.

If there is no metadata (perhaps an xml file) to describe what was done, it might just be faster to ask to originator if possible)

If you get the metadata information as suggested by Dan, then you can use Composite band tool in ArcMap to unstack the bands or recreate the image with required bands.
