Sorry for creating a new post about the same topic but my other post is closed so didn't want to ask a new question under it.

I have a bunch of .tif files which are already made into tiles. They are not like the last flyover where I had to create the tiles from the .tif files. I have decided to just create a new mosaic dataset out of the new imagery instead of overwriting my current one. So my question is can I just load the .tif files into the mosaic datasets as rasters or do I need to create raster datasets out of each .tif file?

Thanks

Just load the tif files into a raster mosaic dataset (RMD).

Were you originally going to overwrite the images in your current RMD?

Since we have new imagery and the current mosaic dataset would be irrelevant, at first I thought about overwriting it to save space on the server but after thinking about it over the weekend it might be better/easier to create a new one
