USGS Lidar Explorer hasn't been working properly for a week and won't let me download the .laz files from their site. However, it shows which 2500 sq ft grids are within my AOI and the NOAA website has the identical .laz files to download. The end goal is to have contours in .dwg for some CAD projects. Unfortunately, once I get to convert LAS Dataset to raster with the NOAA versions they fail. I've tried this with USGS .laz files I already had for other projects and downloaded their identical NOAA counterparts. The process with the USGS downloads works perfectly with every file from start to finish, but not the NOAA version. Maybe the naming convention is preventing the NOAA files from being rasterized? Below is a file from USGS and the same file from NOAA, respectively: (Please help)
USGS_LPC_CA_SantaCruzCounty_2020_A20_027887.laz
20200401_CA_SantaCruzCounty_A20_027887.laz
I am also having that same issue, once I move to raster the las file from NOAA it gives me the error cannot execute. I have tried renaming it and different projections and still no luck.
USGS rockyweb is back up though for the time being so I suggest get whatever data you need before it shuts down again.
Hey Brody...It looks like those files didn't attach to the post. Are you able to open up a support ticket for this behavior? If not, let me know and I'll reach out directly.
