I'd like to see the image classification function within ArcGIS grow with a region growing tool similar to that found in Erdas Imagine.
Here say if you had a river in an aerial image you could click on it using the image growing tool and it would create a polygon that would expand to the river outline.
This would save loads of time instead of digitizing features and allow quick extraction of basic features rather than going through the image classification process.
