I think that story maps from people that work in the region against the decease will be useful and affecting. Real stories on story maps.
Epidemiology and what you can find out from spatial patterns with infectious diseases is a really interesting area with powerful results. I believe the utilization of the story map to this subject is a great way of sharing information on infectious information, its origins and statistical projections for where is could spread to.
The WHO have a good resource for working in this area.
