At the GIS Managers Summit in July, attendees were able to submit questions for our live panel. While we had some great answers, there were dozens of questions we didn’t have time for, so we’re going to answer them here!

Our panelists will be posting, Q&A-style, over the next few weeks, so check back here regularly!

At the Summit, members of Esri’s ArcGIS Solutions team introduced and demo’d the GIS Request Management Solution.  The solution includes several pre- or partially configured apps that help drive increased participation and collaboration in your organization.

@BrandiRank22 , @DanielWickens , and @ScottOppmann addressed multiple questions at the Summit, and below are a few additional questions provided by you.

Brandi also does a great overview of the solution in this article, and you can view a demo online here.

Here are some of your questions answered, and if you have more questions, please post them here!

Q: Is a GIS account required to make a request through GIS request management? We have many users internal and external that will not have an AGOL account and most likely will not need one.

A: ArcGIS identities help you manage access to the Request Management information products, so the solution has been configured to require authenticated users to access the Request Form.

Q: Is this new solution only for geospatial data? Or could non-spatial data be shown as well, utilizing other platforms such as snowflake or BigQuery?

A: GIS Request Management is used to manage the delivery of geospatial services provided by a geospatial service provider.  If you are a geospatial service provider that provides services on other platforms, they can be included as well.  If the question is referring to the Common GIS Data on the GIS Service Center, I would refer to ArcGIS Hub documentation.
