THE POSITION
The Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst will join a team of four, reporting to the Asset Management Program Administrator in the Operations Optimization Division of the District's Operations Department. This position will provide GIS support, database design and maintenance, computer programming, and computer systems administration services to the District. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major work in geography, planning, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Two years of experience in performing digital utility designs and management and GIS analysis and cartographic output and two years of experience in system administration for a networked system supporting GIS operations.
Substitution:
A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for up to one year of experience required.
Substitution for Education: Additional qualifying experience of the type noted above may be substituted for the required Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
Licenses and Certifications:
-Possession of a valid California Driver's License. A valid out of state driver's license will be accepted during the application process. Must possess a valid California Driver's License within 90 days of appointment.
- Technical certification in GIS, such as GISP® (Certified GIS Professional) or ESRI Technical Certification is desirable, but not required.
