The Wildlife Institute of India is an internationally acclaimed Institution, which offers training program for government and non-government personnel, academic courses and advisory in wildlife research and management. The Institute is actively engaged in research across the breadth of the country on biodiversity related issues.

 

The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun invites application forms for engaging Web – GIS Developer for the 5 year long project titled “Establishment of a web portal for dissemination of research findings as a decision support system for policy makers and wildlife managers in Maharashtra” purely on contractual basis.

 

The period of recruitment will be for one year (01 year), which is most likely to be extended based on the candidate’s performance and project needs. The EQ, DQ, age, monthly emoluments and other details of the Project Personnel are as provided below:

Essential Qualification (EQ):

B. Tech/ M. Sc/ M. Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science/ Programming/ Geoinformatics or relevant field with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. Candidate should have minimum of one-year experience in working with ArcGIS JavaScript API and ArcGIS server.

 

Essential Qualification (DQ):

Candidate(s) with prior experience in programming with presentable outputs such as development of API, portals, servers and programming language packages will be preferred. Knowledge of python/ C#/ php/ R integration/ SQL/ Web services/ WCF services/ IIS and other aspects of web-technologies is preferred

 

Description of Work:

Web portal is planned as a dynamic database hosted on ArcGIS server. The candidate will need to design and develop Web-GIS apps to host GIS layers and services.

Rs. 45,000 (Consolidated) with 10% increment per year subject to satisfactory performance

Mode of Selection:

 

The candidate will be selected based on the shortlisting of application and performance in interview. The duly filled in application form (attached below) as per prescribed format with detailed CV including educational qualification and relevant experience should reach to the Institute on or before 7th October 2019 through email bh@wii.gov.in. The application material should be sent in the form of a single PDF document named after the candidate’s name. Emails should be sent with the subject line “Application for Web-GIS Developer”. No hard copy of application form will be accepted.

 

The application form can be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.wii.gov.in. The shortlisted candidates shall be called for interview at the Institute on 17th October 2019. The shortlisted candidates will be communicated through the email and the list will be available in the website by 10th October 2019 for appearing in Interview. The shortlisted candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 17st October 2019 followed by Skill test/Interview on the same day at 1030 hrs. All original documents/ certificates must be produced in original as evidence at the time of registration for necessary verification and self-attested true copies for submission at the time of verification.

 

General Conditions:

 

  1.       The fellowship tenure will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations
  2.       The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview
  3.        Relaxation in Age will be given as per Govt. of India norms
  4.        After announcement of the results, the candidate should join the project immediately.
  5.        The Director WII, reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the candidate or for any other reason thereof.
