MAP seeks to hire a Geospatial Project Manager to join its Renewable Energy/Energy Storage team and report to a Managing Director. The RE/ES team is an energetic and passionate team with a rich history of GIS-related activity, and is a market leader throughout the U.S. This new position will enable MAP Energy to:

  1. Increase analytical support for a growing pipeline of development assets and an increasing number of project transactions;  
  2. Broaden the impact of GIS by improving the quantity and quality of our strategic intelligence throughout the U.S. energy market.

 

The role, which is a hybrid between an enterprise data manager and a spatial analyst, requires an individual who is able to merge technical GIS experience with an interest in renewable energy investment strategy. This is an ideal position for an individual with a strong background in the Esri (GIS mapping software) suite and a passion to pioneer the U.S. energy transition!

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Support RE/ES team and joint venture partners with map products, web services, spatial data and project data room maintenance to inform the strategy, management, and transaction of renewable energy assets;
  • Advance individual project development by creating and collecting datasets pertaining to the design, engineering, local environment, and land position for individual wind, solar, and storage assets;
  • Evaluate new investment opportunities by performing geospatial project due diligence and providing compelling map products; Conduct land, market, regulatory and related project research;
  • Participate in an enterprise level GIS database; Improve multi-user GIS systems by aggregating, editing, and preserving large volumes of data; Leverage these systems to provide investment managers with analytical support in the development of renewable assets and commercial strategies;
  • Handle highly confidential information requiring considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography or related discipline required;
  • Three years of GIS work experience in a professional setting;
  • High proficiency with Esri product line including, ArcGIS for Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online/Portal and related extensions;
  • Demonstrated understanding of projections, datums, land survey systems, cartographic design and aesthetics required;
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to other technical peers, non-technical project managers or other end users;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word required;
  • Excellent research, organizational, and communication skills;
  • Willingness to travel throughout the S. and capacity to work on numerous diverse projects simultaneously.
