ArcGIS Proor Arcmap

Hi everybody,

I would like to ask if AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) data can be processed with ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap, the data contains XYZ (MBES-multibeam, SBP-sub bottom profiler and SSS sidescan sonar).

for hydro survey, did somebody experince with this kind of thing?

Thank you for your time.

Hi - the short answer is that Esri does NOT process raw sounding data. We have a great business partner in QPS, who have the best processing software, called Qimera, that we recommend.  Their Fledermaus software also has read/write capability to our Bathymetric Information System (BIS) that is managed by ArcMap's extension ArcGIS for Maritime: Bathymetry.  Soon (this summer), we'll have even more capability in ArcGIS Pro for automated use of processed XYZ data...stay tuned!  It may also be useful to consider our business partner Earth Analytic's SmartOcean software, which is more focused on the use of spatial information products and location intelligence decision support.

If you have specific questions, please email maritime@esri.com for direct support or to give feedback to the product team!

Thanks for asking!

For ROV video work, you may also consider using the ArcGIS Full Motion Video, and if you really want to keep your seismic (subbottom) data in the ArcGIS Enterprise environment, also consider Seismic Explorer from GeoCap.
