We had the pleasure of celebrating GIS Day 2025 at the Universal Service Fund (USF), Pakistan, and we are excited to finally share a quick recap of how we marked the occasion.
This year’s theme, “Geo Generalist Era,” was a perfect fit for us. It sparked great conversations about how GIS is no longer limited to specialists, everyone in an organization can benefit from spatial thinking and location-based insights.
Our celebration included a short and friendly presentation on the theme, followed by:
A GIS-themed question–answer session to keep things interactive and fun,
A simple GIS-based task/activity for colleagues to try out,
Small prizes for the winners, which brought a lot of excitement
One of the highlights was having our CEO with us and he shared his thoughts on how geospatial technologies are becoming essential for better planning, coverage improvement, and decision-making. His presence added a lot of encouragement for the team.
Overall, it was a warm, engaging, and memorable celebration that helped spread GIS awareness across USF.
Thank you to the Esri GIS Day team for continually inspiring the global GIS community.
We’re already looking forward to next year!
