Split by Attributes in 10.5 is only outputting tables - not shapefiles

I am using the new Split by Attributes tool in 10.5. When I put in a shapefile as input, the outputs are tables only, no shapefiles. It reports in the tool output that shapefiles are being created, but only .dbf files are available in the output workspace.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Hi Will,

I am having the same trouble generating shapefiles... I created a new column and added a letter in front of the split value and that did not solve the problem.  Can you elaborate on how you were able to make this work?

Why not give the tool that I posted in my link if you are still using ArcMap and need to get the job done soon

I have to use a python script.  Using the native tool in Arc works perfectly.  The issue is with arcpy and python.

pull the code from the script associated with the tool I posted... it is all there and doesn't use the native tool at all
