Support failed to help with this today, have any of you resolved this lately?

I'm currently stuck trying to repair my Internet Explorer install as some of the potential fixes rely on it.

ArcGIS 10.2.1 : Advanced on Windows 7

Any help would be appreciated, this is too strange..

Also, here's as far as I can track it -- The file gets updated by ArcMap/Catalog it seems

Is it happening with other tools as well e.g. clip tool (analysis)?

Do you get the same error in ArcMap as well?

Have you tried disabling your anti virus system? (once I was observed this behavior. Especially with McAfee.)

1. Try Renaming ESRI folder, located in your profile.

C:\Users\User profile folder\AppData\Roaming\ESRI

2. Go to internet options > Security > Try setting security levels to Low  for all the zones

Did try both of those options, thanks

It happens in ArcMap too and primarily, testing in Catalog is just a bit quicker.

One per support's direction and the other as advised by links they'd sent

It does seem like Clip still works also

When last talking with support, we were stalled with me trying to repair an internet Explorer installation

Thank you

Had tried that fix.  Doesn't seem the right fit.

But, I'm in the process of 'fixing' my Internet Explorer install.

So, after that, I'll try a number of approaches again.

Derek

1) Try removing the toolbox and adding it again from the 'System toolboxes'

2) Could you please ask your Colleague to log in your system and just the same behavior?

Solo operation

So, no can do, sorry

esri support had me have microsoft support fix my internet explorer

fast-forward, they reinstalled windows 7 and i'm currently reinstalling arcmap

so, no solution to be gleaned from this

i'm down to a complete blank slate

if an actual programming team ever properly diagnoses and resolves this issue,

they're encouraged to tell me, it would better amend my confidence in the product

as it is, with days lost, i probably have a day or less left to my license to finish this project work

also, about 1 year since I first downloaded arcmap and city engine

and now i'm pathetically lost trying to download my software and license on my own for a reinstall

it seems i need to request some permissions or something,

but if i'm just missing a location

please tell me

otherwise, i have to wait 4 hours to contact support

for another 2 hours of work to get back to where i started

i'll thank you all and remove these posts once i get through this all

apologies if i've rambled too much

Regards,

Derek
