Hello and thank you for reading my post.
I am trying to calculate the distance from random points to the nearest feature in the X and Y direction. This is different from the standard function of the "near" tool as it gives you the X and Y values of a line that goes in any direction to the nearest feature. I would like to calculate the distance from a point to a feature traveling directly North-South or East-West. Does anyone know how to do this? I have access to 9.3 and 10.0.
