Hello

I am trying to convert Northern Irish postcode data from OSGB 1936 to WSG84 including the coordinates but I'm having no luck. I've tried using the project tool but I don't really understand how the datum selection works for transformation. I keep getting an error stating: invalid extent for output coordinate system.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Robert,

We use a tool called Datum Pro to convert coordinates http://www.geomatix.net/datumpro/ as we receive data in a multitude of datum.

Datum Pro has the following options for OSGB to WSG84:
OSGB 1936 to WSG84 (Petroleum)
OSGB 1936-1 to WSG84
OSGB 1936-2 to WSG84
OSGB 1936-3 to WSG84
OSGB 1936-4 to WSG84
OSGB 1936-5 to WSG84

If you don't have many coordinates, let me know what you need conveting and I can run it for you.

Thank you for the suggestion. I was able to download the 14 day trail and convert the data.

Thanks again.

Don't know why this post has come up now in the recent list but....

All the OSGB1936 transformations are, of course, available in ArcGIS.

Don't need 3rd party software solutions, free or not free.
