The labels are duplicated when joining the feature class to another table

I have a feature class that is related to a table via a relationship class, and the labeling of this feature class is working well. However, when joining this feature class to the the same table by adding a join, the labels do not work properly (they are duplicated for each feature).

What may be the issue here?

1- How the labels appear with the join

2- Removing the join

3- The labels work well!

not sure why you are joining it to itself, but have you tried enabling the labeling after the join is made and not before?

Thanks for the valuable contribution Dan,

I am joining the feature class to the table in order to be able to query the features based on its related data (which is not applicable with the relationship class)

yes, I've tried enabling labeling after the join, but the same problem arises!

Best,
