Hi,

My geodatabase annotation looks fine in ArcCatalog, as well as the other maps I've used it in. However, in my new map, I'm having a hard time getting the stacked labels to actually stack. They're appearing in the map like this:

gdb_anno1.PNG

but I need it to look like this:

gdb_anno2.PNG

I've dug around in all the geodatabase properties and can't find anything that addresses this. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Clayton,

If your annotation feature is a multi-part feature and has curvature then I believe you'll have to change that before you can stack. This is the workflow that has worked for me...

  1. Right click the annotation feature and "Convert to Single Part"
  2. Right click the annotation feature and select "Curvature" then "Horizontal"
  3. Then edit your text in the Annotation Attribute window by adding an Enter after each word to format it the way you'd like

I hope this helps!

Grant
