Best Geodatabase to use for small organizations

Hello, 

I am from a small organizations and I am trying to design a central database for our GIS Data for our planning department and other departments in the organization. Initially, I have created a File Geodatabase to organize the data. I am looking for ways that allow me to manage the data and maintain it in a consistent form. And manage user access to the database.

Any suggestions on how to do that, or is there other options will be better to implement?

Hola, te conviene una GeoDatabase sencilla con un SQL Server o un Oracle Server. Si o si vas a tener que tener un administrador de BD si no tienes. En el caso de que utilices SQL server es un poco mas sencilla la administración y mantenimiento ni idea los costos de licencia. Espero que te sirva, saludos.

You can implement an Enterprise Geodatabase in SQL Server / PostgreSQL / Oracle.
You will need RDMBS training and Enterprise Geodatabase Training to achieve that.

Thanks for the response. The thing is Enterprise system is not an option, for the organization, because of its price, but maybe in the future when the organization grows. And that's why I went with File Geodatabase. 

Any alternatives or suggestion on how to maximize my position?

PostgreSQL is free and you will only need to buy the ArcGIS Server Basic License to get access to the ArcSDE Geodatabase License File to be able to create an Enterprise Geodatabase in PostgreSQL, another option is to use SQL Lite Geodatabase, but that is not scalable for enterprise use, and SQL Lite Geodatabases do not support all the Geodatabase Features, hence the suggestion is to go with PostgreSQL Geodatabase to reduce the cost. You need first get started with PostgreSQL and there are many online courses for PostgreSQL, but I recommend you attend classes from Enterprise DB.

Note that, while the PostgreSQL server software is free, the hardware on which it resides (or the RDS which exposes it) is not. Nor is the labor of a professional DBA (or the training to become a defacto DBA). So just because the database is "free" in the tenets of "free software" doesn't mean it comes without cost.
