The MOOC will run for four weeks, and each week will focus on one of four popular geo apps:
In one of the exercises, you will play the role of a high school science teacher who wants to create an app that allows your students to read information about individual earthquakes, as well as to see an earthquake on a map in relation to other contextual information, such as tectonic plates and fault lines.
"Work" for the National Park Service at Rocky Mountain National Park in this week's exercise. Create a story that includes maps, photographs, and audio, with the goal of highlighting aspects of the park that encourage someone to slow down, listen, and look around.
In one of the exercise scenarios, you will create a dashboard displaying flight delay trends for Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The dashboard will be used internally by the business analysis team to investigate trends and make recommendations to the airport commission.
Gain skills to construct a single-page web experience tailored to a specific audience and multiple screen sizes. In one of the exercises, you will play the role of a researcher in Australia and create an app that showcases reclaimed wetlands areas in New South Wales, Australia.
