Esri's Make an Impact with Modern Geo Apps massive open online course (MOOC) debuted in 2024 and over 20,000 people worldwide registered to attend. Luckily for you, the MOOC is being offered again in 2025! The no-cost course opens on April 9, but you can join in on the fun and register now

Note: Registration closes on April 16 at 11:59 PM PT.

 

What the MOOC includes:

The MOOC will run for four weeks, and each week will focus on one of four popular geo apps:

Week 1: ArcGIS Instant Apps

In one of the exercises, you will play the role of a high school science teacher who wants to create an app that allows your students to read information about individual earthquakes, as well as to see an earthquake on a map in relation to other contextual information, such as tectonic plates and fault lines.

Week 2: ArcGIS StoryMaps

"Work" for the National Park Service at Rocky Mountain National Park in this week's exercise. Create a story that includes maps, photographs, and audio, with the goal of highlighting aspects of the park that encourage someone to slow down, listen, and look around.

Week 3: ArcGIS Dashboards

In one of the exercise scenarios, you will create a dashboard displaying flight delay trends for Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The dashboard will be used internally by the business analysis team to investigate trends and make recommendations to the airport commission.

Week 4: ArcGIS Experience Builder

Gain skills to construct a single-page web experience tailored to a specific audience and multiple screen sizes. In one of the exercises, you will play the role of a researcher in Australia and create an app that showcases reclaimed wetlands areas in New South Wales, Australia.
