I teach a college level GIS class and using your text "Getting to Know ArcGIS Desktop 10.8, sixth edition". Lesson 5a on page 118 Step 1 sends the students to www.arcgis.com to create an account. Once the account is created they are to follow instructions instructions in Step 3 to open content. In Step 4 they should see a map. However the website no longer looks like the images printed in the text. I've used this text and previous editions for a number of years and never encountered this problem. Please advise. For example, has the original website been archived somewhere?

Hi Russ,

The images of Map Viewer in that chapter are of the version that is now referred to as "Map Viewer Classic". Once you have clicked Map (step 4), you may see the new Map Viewer, which I recommend using, but if you prefer the older version, at the top, you can click, Open in Map Viewer Classic, which will align with the UI shown in the book.

Thanks,

Craig
