No results showing up in search, even though I have valid published metadata

What gives?

I have uploaded 3 valid metadata documents. They have bounding coordinates (have to to be valid) yet they do not show up in any keyword or location search.

Are the records approved? Their status starts off as "Posted" after the upload and won't be discoverable in a search until they are set to "Approved".
