Entered new record but not appearing in Manage Link

I finally got Geoportal installed and was doing the smoke test.... But when I enter the new record and go back to the manage link I don't see the new record to change the status to "Set as Approved"... I checked the database and it is there... Any ideas would be great...

two suggestions:
1. Is the account you are logged in as registered in the LDAP Administrators group?
2. Double-check that your your LDAP group settings and filters in gpt.xml
