Hi

I am doing some scans with LiDAR and the format of the files it creates are BAG. Is there any way I can open it using GIS?

Cheers

It is a supported raster format

List of supported sensors—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

then

Raster file formats—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

If it is supported it should be able to load and/or converted

Export or convert raster datasets—Help | ArcGIS Desktop

What have you tried?  Are you saying it won't load in arcmap or ArcGIS pro?

I am new to this field. When I try to add data, I get the note: "Failed to add data, unsupported data type."

It may require the Data Interoperability extension then

ArcGIS Data Interoperability Supported Formats

The file extension comes up in the context of marine mapping.  It may be an XYZ file format, so if you can check it with a text editor that may narrow down what it actually is.
