San Diego, CA Wildfire and Emergency Services WebApp
I have built an emergency management platform that visualizes wildfire history, and emergency services, using live data feeds, and allows the user to make personalized markup edits. Known in the Emergency Response realm as a Battle Command Display or Common Operational Picture, my aim was to provide a sensible product to untrained users that even the most laymen Internet consumers can also easily utilize. By employing simple HTML5 code, I embedded an Esri WebApp into my website using open-source data and feeds. My professional GIS experience is rooted in military and emergency response, and this is a working project, part of my thesis for my Master’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems & Technology at the University of Southern California, Summer 2016.
