Help me, please.
I use Arg map 9.1 version.
I was editing a polygon and I've done it.
After editing the polygon I opened the table of the shape file and I ri-calculate the area of the polygon.
I saved all my edits.
After this, the polygon I saw the polygon modified in the monitor, but his record in the table didn't exist anymore!
And the polygon in the monitor was like "dead": I couldn't select it!
So i closed the project and I opened it again, but the shape file appeared in color grey and with this  symbol before it: a "!" red!
so, when I tried to open the file with the "source" comand, it appears this message:
NUMBER OF SHAPES DOES NOT MACH THE NUMBER OF TABLE RECORDS.
I tried to use the "repair geometry" comand from Arc tool box, but whithout success.
Please help me: what can I do?
thank you
Francesca

You have a corrupted shapefile and while there are some things you can do to save at least parts of it, you likely will lose some data even if they work.

See http://support.esri.com/en/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/27429 for some repair options.  Make a backup of your shapefile first before doing these.  There's this too: http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=13733
