Naming of feature

Hi
I have polygons I need to name. Each has a point feature inside it which is already named for example R2-1. The polygons is named by using the points name inside it for example R2-1(point) then D2-1(Polygon). IS there a way to do this process without going and manually entering the name into the Field? I have to do 600+ of these and really would like a faster way.

You can use the Spatial Join http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//00080000000q000000.htm.
(Target: polygons) The new polygon-FC will have the (chosen) fields including your point-FC name-field.
