Hello All,

I am trying to Join an SDE layer in my mxd to an Oracle Table.

The SDE Feature is called JOINT, and the Oracle Table is called ESRI_ELEV.

I have created a unique index on the JOINT SDE feature, on the field "NUMBER1". However, when I am inside my MXD, and am in the Join Data dialogue, I get the "Message From Join" dialogue box that says: . I am joining the NUMBER_1 field to EVENT_ID in the oracle ESRI_ELEV table.

From that message, it seems Arc Map is saying the SDE Number1 field is not indexed, when it is : .

Is there something I am missing, or I am reading this message incorrectly?

Thanks,
Zach

Is the NUMBER1 field a discrete numeric type (does it map to an integer)?  Joins on continuous numeric types (floating point) are less than useful. -V
