Hi,

Our council has a massive 19Gb ECW covering the entire city. This ECW has amazing resolution which is handy to developers, residents etc. But every time I provide a copy of the area a specific person is enquiring about we just take a screen grab and send that. This is a horrible way to do it as we lose image quality.

Does anyone know how else I can select an area and crop then export to send out?

Any tips greatly appreciated.

If you just want to give them a static image, in ArcMap -> File -> Export Map... and bump the resolution up from 72dpi to something higher e.g. 300dpi.

If you want to give them a raster at full resolution to use in a GIS etc. use the CopyRaster tool (in Environment Settings-Processing Extent set the extent to "same as display" if you're zoomed in to the right area to avoid copying the entire ecw).
