Hi,

I'm wondering whether it is possible to color balance mosaic dataset overviews.  I'm getting terrible results and I'm concerned that the end user won't even take the time to zoom in.  the big issue is that I'm trying to combine California and Nevada CIR NAIP imagery, and they both look radically different from the overview.  There must be something I can do.

Hi,

I think the general suggestion is to color correct before building overviews. Then when you build the overviews they will reflect the color correction.
If you already have good results from color correction, then remove the overviews and rebuild them. That should do the trick.
I don't know of a way to specifically correct the overviews themselves.

Thanks Robert.  You're right about the color balancing prior to generating overviews.  I'm finding that when running the color balance mosaic dataset that a third order dodging technique with pre-color balancing using standard deviation seems to be working well.  Default settings gave me pretty bad results.
