Layer inaccessible:
I can't seem to fix this issue - layer inaccessible when compiling a story map series.
Any suggestions?
Hi Jo-Anne,
Sorry you are having an issue with your story map.
Can you provide a link to the story and/or the layer, or if it's not public let me now what type of layer it is? (feature service, CSV referenced on the web, etc.)
Owen
Owen,
Thank you for assisting. The URL to the story map is
http://uscssi.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=e1b6b3f58ed94f3f9d4f3430df24d075
The map is shared with Everyone and the map service that I published is
also shared with Everyone - It is in an organizational account. The map
service url does prompt a sign in.
Any thoughts will be awesome.
I am just getting started with story maps - so this map is my test version
and contains only 1 layer.
Regards,
Jo-Anne
The layer is inaccessible because it is not shared publicly or you do not have the required privilege to share the layer. Is it the layer you created or is it the layer you are trying to use from ArcGIS online?
Try https instead of http.
Saroj,
It is a layer that I created and published in a map service within an
organizational account. I did share it with Everyone (public). The url is:
http://uscssi.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=e1b6b3f58ed94f3f9d4f3430df24d075
It seems to display fine in internet explorer and chrome (not firefox)
(I'm working with only one layer and testing at this point), but it still
shows that the layer is not accessible within my production environment.
Regards,
Jo-Anne
Hi Jo-Anne,
That service looks like it's only accessible over https, so when accessing your story over http it shows as an error. If you try accessing your story over https I don't think the error will appear.
Also, you are referencing that service with a link to the GIS server's internal web server rather than the web adaptor, which is not recommended. The best practice for configuring ArcGIS Server is to use the web adaptor. Please refer to the ArcGIS Server documentation for more information.
