All,

I have images I want to use stored on google drive. The web link to the image looks like:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwEfWw6tPiprRjN1Y0RhUC1RU1U/edit?usp=sharing
When I enter this into a browser it converts to:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwEfWw6tPiprRjN1Y0RhUC1RU1U/edit?pli=1

However, when I use either of these in my storymap it does not find the image. Is there anything special I need to do to make one of these web links work?

Regards
Gordon

URLs need to point at actual image files, with file extensions like png or jpg, like this one: http://downloads.esri.com/blogs/places/sandiego/cafe_222.png in order for the images used in web pages and web apps like story maps. Your URLs point at web pages in which image files are embedded, not to the actual image files themselves.

The URLs you have point to Google's preview tool, which displays the image embedded within their tool.  To get the direct URL for the image, one quick way is to right-click on the image and "Copy image URL" (or your browser's equivalent). You can than paste and use that URL in a Story Map.

I'm having a similar problem.  I have the images I want to add to Story Map in a separate folder in Google Drive, but I am not seeing a "copy image URL" option; instead, I have a "get shareable link" option which Story Map doesn't seem to like.  See attached screen capture.

Any ideas?

Thanks for this.  The last few steps of the ESRI instructions were confusing.  An example helped!!!
