Hello-

I am attempting to publish a feature service to consume in ArcPad 10.2 and am following the below link for reference:

http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcpad/10.2/app/index.html#/Sync_with_feature_services/00s100000...

I choose 'Feature Service' when I publish but when I look at the service it says it's still a plain old map service.  This also seems to cause the 'Add feature service URL to AXF' GP tool to not recognize the .lyr file I created off the service as a valid feature service layer (see attached .jpg named 'AddFeatureServiceError.jpg).

Anybody seen this error and have any idea how to fix?

Thanks-

Hello!

I had the same problem and it has to do with the connection you are using. So you can publish with your current ArcGIS Server connection but then make another ArcGIS server connection that is designated as a "user".

Then when you view your published services you will see both the map service and the feature service:

Then you can right-click on the Feature service and make a layer.
