No subject alternative DNS name matching <hostname> found error message when trying to create a workflow item

Hi,

I am getting the above message after installing Workflow Manager 11.3 and trying to create a workflow item.

Everything is on the same machine and is an Esri Partner demo platform for one of our products.

External Portal

https://external.domain.com/portal

External Server

https://external.domain.com/server

SSL certificate is from Sectigo and is a wildcard certificate *.domain.com

Internal Portal/Server

machine.ad.domain.com

So I get an error in the Server logs - No subject alternative DNS name matching MACHINE.AD.DOMAIN.COM found.

I have read Common problems and solutions—ArcGIS Enterprise | Documentation
and a couple of other questions relating to this.

The takeaway from them is that the only way to be able to use Workflow Manager in this scenario is to buy another SSL certificate for *.domain.com with a request a SAN for machine.ad.domain.com.

Is this correct?

Is there anything I can put in the WorkflowManager.conf that would bypass this?

Portal/Server 11.3 are happily chatting away without this so not sure why WorkflowManager is different.
