All,

Here is the next in my line of widgets for the FlexViewer 2.x.

The legend portion of this widget is the same code as my dynamic legend widget so,

IT IS FOR ARCGIS SERVER 10 OR GREATER ONLY

This is just a simple TOC Widget that includes my dynamic legend component.
This widget also includes my enhancement for map service transparency,
right click context menu for zoom to make layer visible, and my scale
dependent renderer for the TOC checkboxes.

Is it possible to get the legend on a seperate tab on the toc widget, hence having the TOC on one tab and the legend of all visible layers on the other. What codes changes are required?

Faizan,

Sure that is the way it use to be but I have no plans on going backwards with this code.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you have any version available to download which has a seperate TOC and legend. The only reason we need to move is that for some slow loading map services, the user has to wait for the legend to load up and can only then use the widget. We do have a large number of map services (global level).

Thanks

Faizan,

In version 2.4.3 some steps were made to help with that issue. But to answer your question no there is not a version available for Flex Viewer 2.4 that has them separated.

I have been able to make the legend work. It was more of a display issue as i am using state. I have another question regarding the legend item size. Is it possible to control the size of the legend item symbol, for example (reduce the size of the rectangle drawn for a certain layer).

Thanks

Tracy,

Once you ensure that the layers did have data in their description field and the Map document it self does did you republish the MSD and then clear your REST cache?

Yep!  We just did it again, to make sure...  I've attached images of the test service...  One image for the main mapservice and one for one of the layers within it.  None of them show a metadata button, but if I change it to a feature layer with just one layer in it, the meta data button will come up.

Thanks!

Tracy,

For your second image it is the service description that is used and your is blank. I will need to test if not having a service description affects the individual layers not getting a metadata button.
