Hi everyone,

I’d like to customize the zoning type tab in ArcGIS Urban to better match our local urban planning standards. Specifically, I need to add new parameters—such as Building Coverage Ratio (BCR) and People Density—below the existing Dwelling Unit Density parameter.

Additionally, I’d like to include these new parameters in the Building Regulation section as well.

Could anyone please advise on how to add or configure new parameters in ArcGIS Urban? Any guidance or examples would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you, [Bilguuntugs]

Hi @Bilguuntugs24

Thanks a lot for your question.

At the moment, Urban doesn't support changing names or adding additional zoning parameters beyond what is already present.

Are you looking to just change the names of the existing parameters or add completely new ones?
If you are looking for the latter: Should these parameters also impact the appearance of plausible buildings as you apply building types (as described in the product documentation)?

In either case, we would be interested in learning more about your use case. Please feel free to submit an ArcGIS Urban Idea, providing as many details as possible about why you would like to customize the zoning parameters. And if there is a document shedding light on your community's zoning regulations that you could attach to the Idea, even better.

The Esri Community Ideas help us better understand our customers' needs and incorporate this valuable feedback in future product development iterations.

Thanks,
Dominik
