Hi,

I am wandering if there is a documentation about the json fields in the Uurban model such the EdgeInfos in parcels.

I would like to know what is the structure of such fields and what are the meaning of each attributes of the json.

I was looking in the official Urban documentation, but cannot find any info about that.

Many thanks,

Maxime Demers

Hi again Maxime 🙂 Here is some more information from my colleague Dominik Allemann.

A few additional inputs regarding the edge-info question:
  • the information stored in the corresponding JSON field describes the orientation (front, side, rear) and adjacency (interior, street) for each edge of a parcel. The default for every parcel edge is "side - interior".
  • In the plan editor, there is the "Edge orientation" tool to manually set the orientation & adjacencies of parcel edges ("Edit parcel edges" section in the urban documentation: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/urban/help/help-edit-parcels.htm)
  • The Urban Connector toolbox comes with a tool that allows to calculate the JSONs for an entire parcels dataset before importing the parcels into ArcGIS Urban --> https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=5a6f23d6e773435cbea727bd65e7a349

Maxime, let us know if this helps or you'd like more clarification.

Best,

Keera

Hi Maxime! There are some excel templates with a schema tab that gives you some information about specific JSON fields. Attached is the zoning types example. Let me see what else I can find for you and specifically what I can find about the EdgeInfos field. As a start, the EdgeInfos JSON string contains information that tells Urban if the edge of the parcel is a front, rear, or side edge. The edge orientation is calculated based on road type - for example, a front-facing edge usually faces a local street.
