I can see the external antenna is transmitting the location to the iPad bc the Eos Tools Pro app shows it working on the iPad. But there is a yellow bar at the bottom of survey123 that says "Survey123 unable to capture current location"
Did you remember to select the EOS from the provider list? Or is it still "Integrated Provider"?
So long as the EOS is working in the EOS app, it should be working in S123.
If you use the "Integrated Provider" in S123, do you get a location? I am wondering if you blocked S123 from accessing location data in your mobile device's settings. If "Integrated Provided" also doesn't work, that would be the issue. That looks like iOS: In that case, go to Settings > Location Services (type "Location" and it should pop up) > scroll down and find "Survey123" and ensure it is set to either "Always" or "While Using".
My only other idea would be to remove and re-add the EOS receiver in S123.
I am not able to get access to our EOS right now to confirm, but so long as you have a position in the EOS app, S123 should also have a position. There aren't any "hidden" settings that should need to be configured within S123.
I will also mention this on the off chance that it matters. But, I found that if more than one person with a configured EOS app was present, the EOS app didn't work properly. The antenna would randomly select a device to connect to. Was rather frustrating during the demo!
Awesome, thanks for the suggestions. I tried both 1) setting the location to "always" for Eos tools Pro and Fieldmaps, and "while using the app" for Survey123 (the highest available, i.e. "always" is not an option for Survey123) ; and 2) switching back and forth from the integrated receiver in the settings for both fieldmaps and Survey123 independently. Both to no avail. I didn't mention before but I was trying to use Fieldmaps too, however.I have discovered just now that if I switch the provider in fieldmaps to Integrated instead of the Eos and THEN switching it from the Eos to Integrated and back to Eos in Survey123, the error goes away in Survey123 and I am able to stay connected consitently to the Eos. The same happens if I decide I only want Fieldmaps to have the Eos as the provider. So long story short, it's like only one of the two apps (Survey or Fieldmaps) can have the Eos as its provider at a given time -- they can't play nice and share. Which is a shame because I use each app for collecting different kinds of features, and it is a time suck to switch the provider back and forth. Anyways they are amazing apps and technology but would be better if I could do it all.
