We are in the process of purchasing a Trimble Ranger 7 Handheld. Our current Trimble units are somewhat out of date. One of the things that has come up in discussion is compatibility with other GIS software. We currently use the Survey123 field app to collect utility data in the field using both our Android phones and various tablets. I've reviewed the system requirements for the Survey123 field app and it does indicate that it is compatible with a Windows 10 Pro operating system which the Trimble Ranger 7 Handheld uses.
Questions...
Can we download to and use the Survey123 field app on this new device?
If so, would this improve our accuracy?
Has anyone used the Survey123 field app in this manner by downloading it directly to the handheld unit?
As with everything else, we are attempting to not carry so many devices out with us in the field and it would make things so much easier if the new unit could do multiple tasks.
