Dear community,

Have been using the Survey 123 connect app (ver 3.13) to publish the survey. Users are submitting the survey answers using to submit 1 survey at one time.

Some users need to submit more than 1 survey answer and at times 500 survey answers.

Is there a tool in Survey 123 connect app or others to allow bulk submission using the same survey questions? Thanks.

Hi @TE-Jack,

Can you explain the workflow and use case a bit further?

Are they needing to submit 500 different survey records for the same survey? Does each survey have the exact same answers? How many questions are in the survey?

Have you seen or tried favorite answers, would this help speed up the submissions, by copying the answers from a pre-defined favorited survey by the user?

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the responses. Some farm groups have a few hundred farms under their group. They collect the farm data that are stored in their database and will be inefficient if they submit one survey answers at a time. So using favorites will not be possible.

They are requesting if there is an additional tool that they can use to upload all farm data from their database. Therefore proposing an Excel template to be uploaded into Survey 123.

Can you help to figure this one out? Thanks.

Hi @TE-Jack,

It is not possible to upload a Excel file or table format into Survey123 field app or web app that gets converted into actual attributes in the feature layer for those questions.

However you can do this using ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Pro tools. For the feature layer that was created Survey123 when you published the survey, you can import data into the layer. Is this what you mean?

Phil.

Hi Phil,

Just to give you a background, we collect farm-related information that includes approximately 40 odd questions (such as farm areas, animals, conservation boundaries and others). There are a total of 3 standards and some farms have to fill in all (ie: 3 standards X 40 questions = 120 questions). They also must include a polygon map of the farm boundaries.

I know that the Arc GIS online and Arc Gis pro can mass upload the data. However, the online form is meant for end users to submit data and include polygon drawing of their farms. Also there are conditional questions such as kg/bales, acres/heactres, and others which will make filling in the form easier rather than using a template (uploaded by admin in either Arc GIS online and/or Arc GIS pro). Furthermore, there are 5k farms and sending the file to me for uploading is also not efficient.

Also, I am not sure what do you mean by importing data into the feature layer? Are you referring to an existing layer? If yes, then we are not importing, but submitting each survey as a unique submission. This is because we need the farm to draw the polygon area.

Regards,

Jack
