Some users can edit surveys; others can't

I authored a survey that has a shared update group containing users who edit surveys after they've been submitted, either by the public or by other group members. All the group members are the same User Type and Role  (Creator and Publisher).

Everything was working fine until yesterday, when some users (only 2 out of 19 in the shared update group) were no longer able to edit surveys submitted by others. They assure me they were able to add attachments and make changes to surveys last week.

The rest of the users are still able edit surveys created by others, but these 2 users cannot. They get the error stating that the survey can't be edited because it was created by someone else.

Does this ring any bells for anyone?

Hello @wilcow

Are the users editing surveys in the Surey123 field app or the web app?

Thank you,
Zach

Hi @ZacharySutherby ,

all editors are using the Survey123 web app

Hello @wilcow

Thank you for confirming! I had tested on my end and am able to edit records with a different user than the survey submitter. It may be best to reach out to Esri Technical Support and they will be able to assist with further troubleshooting.

Thank you,
Zach

Hi

Maybe a stupid question but did you check the editing settings of the feature service:

Maybe the users were able to edit because they themselves created those features.

I hope that's the issue because that would be a quick fix 😅

@DeonLengton

good thought but I did check: Editors can edit all features and they assure me they were able to edit survey responses they did not create in the past; now they can ONLY edit surveys they created, which isn't ideal since our workflow involves either other staff or members of the public answering the survey and then editors making changes to the survey.

I'm wondering if recreating the group or even the users might help?
