Thank you for the response and links. Actually as it turned out the solution was quite amazing. I thought something was wrong with the data because there were over 3000 observations and I only have 66 students who I thought were collecting 30 observations each. In class today I told them I was trying to figure out why there were so many duplicate observations in our database because I expected less than 2000 and am seeing over 3000. A student said "Professor Smith, you told us 30 was the minimum and we should keep collecting for a full hour. I entered 187 observations." So I asked who collected more than 30 observations and all but 2 students said they did. There is an easy way to check how many surveys were logged into their mobile-App, so we made a quick Google Sheet, and in fact most students collected a lot more than 30. So I was completely wrong, there's no problem with Survey123, the xlsx form, or the data, the problem was me not realizing that the students were fully committed to the project, and how lucky I am to be teaching UC Berkeley students.
