Re-publish from Survey123 Connect

I originally created and published a survey in Survey123 web designer and decided to make edits to the survey in Survey123 Connect (to explore the advanced functionality). Within the xls file, I deleted one question and added a new one. When attempting to publish the updated survey to my organization's Portal, I run into this message:

I toggle on "Add the following fields when publishing", click next, and then encounter this loading screen:

This window stays open indefinitely and does not publish the changes to the survey up to the portal.

I did try the solution described in this article:

https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000025001

which explains that the survey's form item on the portal was moved to a different folder, and that you must update the ITEMINFO file of the survey on the local machine to reflect the new folder ID. This did not solve my problem.

Has anyone encountered this issue when attempting to re-publish a survey from Connect? Any help is appreciated.

Did you have Connect closed when you edited the info file?

Yes, Connect was closed when I edited the info file. Should it have been open?

No it should be closed.  But really that should give an error now just hang.  If it has no data in it I have had some luck deleting the AGOL folder form the form and starting over.

Hi. Try adding manually the field direct to the feature  in AGOL, if you do not want to recreate.

Thank you both. I really just added the field as an experiment to see how the publishing process would go. I think I'll be better off re-creating the survey from scratch using Connect.
