Good afternoon,

I am currently using ArcGIS Survey123 Connect to test out some surveys, and I wondering what the exact purpose of these three icons is (please see below).

These seem to be related to location, but any further insight would be welcome.

Thank you in advance,

Claudia

Hi @InformationResources1,

Please refer to the following section in the online documentation under Location questions, and point numbder 4:

https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/get-answers/quickreferencegetanswers.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_E...

When the location indicator has a solid center (your first icon), the location of the device is currently being used and the center of the map is automatically centered on the device location, and will move as it updates.

The arrow represents a "navigation" mode and will update to indicate the direction the user is moving keeping the map centered on the device location and showing direction at same time.

The last icon is when the map has been manually moved or changed via a geosearch or existing geopoint location, and the location from the device is currently not being used. In this case the center of the map will be used for the geopoint location when the save button is selected, instead of the current device location.

Regards,

Phil.
