We have created a Survey123 Connect project. In the online Collaborate settings, under "Update survey", there is an option to share the survey with a Shared Update Group. We have created such a group and shared the survey to that group.

When accessing the survey from the ArcGIS Online Overview page for the survey, the options under "Open in Survey123" include "Edit in Survey123 Connect", however, no one other than the original author can successfully use that option. For everyone else, Survey123 Connect launches, but that survey is not listed in the My Survey Designs library for download.

How do other authors in the Shared Update Group access a Survey123 Connect form?

Thanks,

Erica

Hi @EricaCirigliano,

It looks like this is expected from looking at the documentation (see bottom of the page):

"Shared update group functionality is only supported by the Survey123 website and web designer. Shared update groups are not supported by Survey123 Connect, and users in a shared update group won't be able to access the survey in Survey123 Connect."

Thanks for the link! We had read documentation about shared update groups but just assumed that, since there was an option to open the survey in Survey123 Connect, the capability was there.

Perhaps this is an example of the Spinal Tap Exception: just because there's a door doesn't mean there's a stage.

Would be great to have the option though!

I had almost this exact question and didn't find this post until now. In case someone else ends up here, the response that I was given from ESRI is that this is an enhancement request now:

ENH-000155071: Add the ability to co-author ArcGIS Survey123 Connect forms via shared update groups
