Issue with adding Portal for ArcGIS account to Survey123

I am trying to link my Portal for ArcGIS account with Survey123 but I receive the following error.  The URL I am using is the one that appears in the web browser when signing into Portal, and I am running version 10.6.0.  Also, what other accounts are able to be added to Survey123?  For example, is it possible to connect SQL Server with Survey123?

Thanks,

Jacob

Did you click on the "Add Portal" after typing the Portal address?

Hi Jacob,

Does your portal have a An ArcGIS relational data store configured? What is ArcGIS Data Store?—Portal for ArcGIS (10.6) | ArcGIS Enterprise .

Survey123 works with ArcGIS Enterprise; you can configure a survey to work with a federated feature service for direct access to an enterprise geodatabase, such as one on SQL server.

No, our portal does not have a relational data store configured.  To my knowledge, everything is configured through SQL Server.  Do we need the relational data store in order to add Portal for ArcGIS to Survey123 Connect?  Our goal is to host in-house projects using Survey123 on Portal instead of AGOL.  Each project has its own enterprise geodatabase using the same SQL Server instance.

Hi Jacob,

Yes, the relational data store is required - it's part of the base deployment of ArcGIS Enterprise and provides the capability for Survey123 to create the feature services in response to a survey design.

That's good to know.  Do you know if there are plans to change this requirement in the future so that it will also work with SQL?  Just trying to decide what direction to take the project from here since using Survey123 with Portal isn't possible in our current setup.  Thanks for all your help.

Hi Jacob,

There is not any plans to change the minimum system requirements; this is based on the current best practice for on premises deployment of ArcGIS Enterprise.  If you have a base deployment, Survey123 does work with ArcGIS Server feature services that are connected to feature classes and tables in an enterprise geodatabase (a geodatabase built on an RDBMS like SQL Server) - see Use Survey123 with existing feature services—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS
