Is there any option for pulling data from a bluetooth enabled tape measure.

There are a couple of bluetooth tape measures on the market that would greatly increase the speed and accuracy of our field data collection. We currently have over 100 integer or decimal fields across several surveys that must be populated by hand with the results from a manual measurement.  All measurements are under 10 feet ( most are under 4 feet) and the accuracy must be plus or minus 1/16 of an inch. I have been the recent Spike potential, but based on its specifications, it just doesn't have the accuracy we need.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

J.

Hi Jonathan,

We haven't looked at bluetooth tape measures yet.  If the tape measure can connect to the phone as a keyboard, it could work directly know; otherwise (and this appears likely the case based on a quick review of these devices), we would need to work with specific manufacturers to develop an integration with Survey123.
