We have 2 surveys with the same problem.

We are now testing data collection using a browser and computer/mobile device (android phone).

When submitting data from a desktop computer everything works but when submitting data from a mobile device we get this 'Geometry could not be set error' if we don't edit the point location the device captures.

Any idea what's the problem here?

Hello @AGP

Were the surveys created from existing feature services? Would you be able to provide a diagnostic log from the Survey123 field app when the error is reproduced?

Thank you,
Zach

Hi Zach,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, both surveys were created from existing feature services (ArcGIS Portal).

We are not using the Survey123 field app at all. These surveys will be embedded in a website for public use so we are testing data collection from an internet browser. For the sake of testing I downloaded the field app and tried submmitting a survey and it worked without errors, so definitely it's only when submitting it through the browser on mobile devices.

We guessed that maybe some devices (both android and ios) capture a z value together with the xy point location and the problem was about trying to save a 3D geometry in a 2D feature service.

Enabling developer options and remote debugging on an android device we've been able to confirm this. So we are about to republish our feature service with xyz geometry and see if this solves the issue.
